Employment Information

  • Applicants for teaching positions with the Evangeline Parish School System must possess, or be eligible for, a Louisiana Teacher's Certificate. 

    FINGERPRINT BACKGROUND CHECK (CBC) FOR ALL EMPLOYMENT POSITIONS

    1. Driver's License or State ID Card
    2. Social Security Card
    3. Direct Deposit-Evangeline Parish School District requires all employees to use direct deposit for all compensations.
    4. Employees must provide a voided check, bank enrollment ACH Form, or ABBA routing and account numbers to be used.
    5. All prospective employees are required to obtain a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening. The applicant will be contacted to schedule their Criminal Background Check (CBC) / Fingerprinting.

    REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR PROFESSIONAL EMPLOYMENT

    • Resume
    • College Diploma
    • Official College Transcript (Transcript maybe escript.)
    • Copy of Louisiana teaching certificate or a letter from university verifying admission to teacher education program (stating which alternative certification route being pursued) or passing scores in Reading and Writing part of Praxis scores.
    • Two (2) Employment recommendation letters
    • Three (3) Character references (Non Family Member) List references' name, address, and contact number (include on resume)

  •  Support Employment (Paraprofessional, Cafeteria Technician, Custodian, School Secretary, etc.)

    PARAPROFESSIONAL

    Must be at least 20 years of age

    A. MUST HAVE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:

    1. Earned an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or Associate of Applied Science degree from a state-approved or regionally accredited institution of higher education

    2. Completed 48 semester credit hours from a state-approved regionally accredited institution of higher education to include a total of 18 hours of general education requirements in the following areas: English (3), English/Reading (6), & Math (9)

    3. Obtained a passing score on the ParaPro Test

    CAFETERIA TECHNICIAN

    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Must have attended eighth grade or score 8.0 grade level on the NRT
    • At least one favorable work reference
    • Medical Exam

    CUSTODIAN / MAINTENANCE

    • Must be at least 20 years of age
    • Must have attended eighth grade or score 8.0 grade level on the NRT
    • At least one favorable work reference
    • Must attend on-the-job custodial training


    SCHOOL / CENTRAL OFFICE SECRETARY

    • Must be at least 20 years of age
    • High School Diploma: additional secretarial skills including but not limited to proficiency in the use of computers
    • Physical and mental stamina and ability to perform job functions, tasks, and duties

  • The applicant will be contacted to schedule their Criminal Background Check (CBC) / Fingerprinting. Required documents to submit with the application:

    • Driver's License
    • Must be 21 years of age
    • Social Security Card
    • CECP Certificate
    • W-9 Tax Form
    • Letter from recommending Principal

    Get Certified as a CECP Coach

    • Driver's License or State ID Card
    • Social Security Card
    • Submit an official letter from the university requesting to complete residency. The letter should include the name/names of schools and grade levels/subjects needed to be observed.
    • The Resident Teacher must complete the first available Substitute Training. 
    • Completion of the Substitute Packet and submission of all required documents.
    • Must comply with all employment guidelines as required by state status and local policy (i.e. criminal records check, fingerprinting, application for employment, etc.)
    • Resident Teacher must obtain clearance from the Central Office before beginning residency at any campus. Clearance will be communicated through email and copied to the principal of the school.

    The applicant will be contacted to schedule their Criminal Background Check (CBC) / fingerprinting and pre-employment drug screening.

    Upon completion of residency, the resident will provide a letter from the university verifying that they have successfully completed all requirements of their residency. This must be received BEFORE payment will be issued by the district.

    The proof of completion should be turned in to the Personnel Department.
